Making the decision to begin therapy takes courage. I feel privileged to accompany my clients on their journeys of inner-exploration, discovery, and healing. Influenced by Carl Rogers’ assertion that the client is the expert of his or her life, I believe in my clients’ inner-knowing. I also get that clients may sometimes be unsure of how and where to start. I can help.

I am formally trained in and practice the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model of therapy, a model that is as gentle as it is powerful and uniquely non-pathologizing. This model helps us to honor your life experiences, even the difficult ones, while helping you to unburden yourself of the sometimes-painful aftereffects (such as shame, fear, confusion, and even panic) of these life events.

So how do our relationships with others and with our internal worlds impact our quality of life?  How have our histories set the stage for how we engage in our present-day relationships?  Have we found ourselves repeating similar patterns over the years that we wish we could change?  How do we affect the positive change that we desire?

I am a trauma-informed therapist with extensive experience helping clients tap into a pace that feels right to them - the client is always in the driver’s seat. What I provide is something akin to shepherding. As I walk alongside you on your journey, I bring my own compassionate curiosity to your exploration, checking in with you to see if my observations resonate – sometimes they will, sometimes they won’t – and when they don’t, we can use this as a springboard for your own inner clarity.

I offer both in-person and virtual sessions in my office in Manhattan. I’d be happy to speak with you to see if we might be a good fit.
